May 01   May Day Polka Party

CCC Center Stage Series featuring MAY DAY POLKA PARTY

Sunday, May 1, 2016 1:30-4:00 pm

Tickets: $5.000

Beer Tasting, Bray Fry and Live Music featuring THE SQUEEZETTES.

The Squeezettes are winners of the Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) Polka Artist of the Year Award in 2012, 2013 and 2015!

In the diverse, artistic, “bohemian” Milwaukee neighborhood known as Riverwest, forgotten accordions made their way out of the musty basements and into the hands of some eager, fun creative people with a dream…

The spirit of Polka still breathes in Ozaukee County with this May Day Polka Party!

May 21 - May 22   Swedish Stone Massage

This hands on workshop combines the use of hot and cold stones with Swedish strokes. In this class you will learn how and when to use hot basalt stones or cold marble stones for relaxation, aches, pains, injuries, tissue repair and stress reduction. You will learn techniques with the stones such as trigger point work, Myofascial Release techniques, deep tissue techniques and vibrational sound therapy. You will also learn to identify the right stone for your techniques, how to make your own set or where to purchase your stones, how to heat your stones and stone maintenance. It is highly suggested to purchase a set of stones to use in the workshop, which will allow you to bond with them.  Massage Tables, Linens and Roasters are also required. Susan trained and taught with the originator of the method of massage using stones in Tucson Arizona.  She brings to you her extensive knowledge and training as one of the pioneers of this therapy in Wisconsin since 1999.

This class is from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m on the first day.  Day 2 is from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. The cost of this workshop is $275.00, which will include a 43-page book on the techniques, contraindications, concepts of thermo therapy, how to heat, cool and care for your stones. Each student will give and receive a Swedish Stone Massage®. You will also receive a certificate in Swedish Stone Massage® upon completion on the last day of class.  This class is designed for licensed massage therapists/bodyworkers and spa technicians. Students will need to bring stone set, roaster, massage table and other supplies.

May 25   Meditation, Sleep and the Divine Feminine With Colin Forbes
Join us at Blue Sky on Wednesday mornings at 9am for a one hour meditation course. Begin Wednesday May 4th, for a 5 week journey into mindfulness and meditation.Only 20 spots available for this class!

Ever had trouble sleeping?

Would you love to understand why sleep should be something you and your body should be looking forward to?

Did you know that meditation is a form of descending into the subconscious, just like you do in sleep…only you are awake?

Basic meditation methods are presented to create a firm understanding of the relationships between meditation, prayer and sleep. This course also provides an introduction of harmonization between the masculine (mental/conscious mind) and the feminine (emotional/subconscious mind) energies we all carry within us. Core concepts of understanding and connection to the Divine Feminine are introduced.

Attend one class for $25 or take advantage of this introductory discounted price and receive all 5 weeks of instruction for just $100 or sign up for all 5 sessions with a friend and its just $75 per person.

Class will be taught by Colin Karewa Forbes, he is uniquely qualified to guide you into inner realms of calmness while living in today’s fast paced world. At the age of 13, Colin was initiated into Transcendental Meditation (TM). Twenty years later, a profound awakening related to his indigenous heritage led to additional initiations and a dedicated meditation practice which has provided a stable foundation for his professional and personal lives. His purpose and passion now is to harmonize these two, apparently contrary paths of the physical world and internal peace, through Powerful Peace coaching mindfulness and meditation. Thirty minute Q&A time available each week.

Oct 09   Migraine MiracleŽ-Cold Stone Therapy for Migraine Headaches

Instructor & LMT, Kelly Lott created this innovative treatment designed specifically for massage therapists and spa practitioners who want to offer their clients an alternative, natural and holistic relief treatment for all kinds of headaches.

60 million people a year (1 in 6) suffer from headaches and an increasing number want a more natural yet powerful way to get relief. The heart of the Migraine Miracle® is the holistic fusion of custom designed cold marble stones that contour along key headache sites comfortably to decrease the pressure of dilated blood vessels, specially blended essential oils with combinations developed specifically to counteract the top four headache causes and headache point release techniques.

This treatment is a harmonious therapeutic approach for all kinds of headache pain. Workshop includes a lecture on symptoms, how to recognize triggers of migraines, demonstration and hands on practice to perform the 30 minute treatment. Tuition includes how-to handouts, aromatherapy samples and two spa foot towels.

Oct 12 - Oct 14   Foundations in Myofascial Release Seminar: The Upper Body

One of three entry points into the Foundations in Myofascial Release Seminars: The Upper Body begins at the core, teaching you a simple but very effective means of connecting your findings with your client’s pain or dysfunction. Using a well-defined Feedback Loop, the Foundations Approach makes treatment quite simple. Therapists who have taken seminars through the Foundations Seminars Approach have reported that they learned effective interventions quickly and easily and are able to integrate the newly learned concepts immediately. Even those therapists with previous experience in myofascial release (MFR) trainings find value in the Foundations Approach, not only to learn different approaches/techniques, but through learning ways to use this effective modality. After learning a core understanding of nervous system and soft tissue change, the application of treatment flows smoothly. Autonomic nervous system engagement, cutaneous nerve/skin-based approaches, as well as the more traditional “fascial approaches” to pain relief will all be addressed in an easy to understand fashion. Having a deeper model of understanding of the explanations behind this work makes for a much more effective therapist.

The Upper Body Seminar includes valuable evaluative and treatment perspectives on the arms, shoulders, thorax, neck, and head regions. But more than just a collection of techniques, you will learn how to apply these concepts anywhere in the body, with nuanced variations in stretch direction and style that allows you to further engage your patient in the process and alleviate their pain or symptoms.

Foundations in Myofascial Release Seminars are designed for both beginner and experienced therapists. Massage therapists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and speech language pathologists will all find value in these fast paced and enjoyable hands-on classes. Using an easy to follow approach, Foundations Seminars will build the confidence of a beginner to start using this valuable modality from the first day. Those who have taken other myofascial release seminars will find fresh a fresh approach to evaluation and treatment. Integrating a nervous system based approach creates entirely new openings for the therapist to follow. Pain which was previously explained in a nebulous manner, taking into account the supposed far-reaching effects of the fascial system can now be explained in a plausible fashion using simple neuroanatomy and neuroscience. While many therapists may prefer to continue on the fringe of acceptance, many more are reaching for credibility. Foundations Seminars supports you!

The Upper Body Seminar is 20 hours/2.5-days.

Prerequisite: LMT,PT, PTA, OTR, and other licensed healthcare providers

NCBTMB 20 CE Hours. Approval for SLP’s, PT’s, PTA’s, OTR’s, and COTA’s varies on a state-by-state basis. Please inquire for specific approval for these and other professions, as many will have been previously approved.

The Foundations Approach is a simple one; connect with your patient’s pain and create change. This need not be made more difficult that it is. The principles you will learn in the Foundations Approach Seminars are easily applicable to most of your existing training as well. After over two and a half decades in this field, Walt Fritz has created a very simple approach to dealing with pain. Please consider joining him for this Upper Body Seminar.
