Jun 10   Heritage Day / Handwerker Schau
The Ozaukee County Historical Society is holding it's Heritage Day on June 10th at Ozaukee County Pioneer Village. We are in the process of re-branding it to Handwerker Schau, a name that was used in the early days of Pioneer Village (1960's-1970's).

This is a festival of historic demonstrators and artisans. This year we have 22 folks that will be presenting their trade, craft or skills. Some of these include spinning, candle making, quilting, butter churning, weaving, turning wooden bowls, blacksmithing and more. There will also be activities for children to make & take things home.

Joining us this year are the Trinity-Friestadt Historial Society, Grafton Historical Society, Jonathan Clark Museum and the Oscar Grady Saukville Library joining us. At 1:00 Jim and Marty Burch from the Big Cedar Bluegrass Band from West Bend will demonstrate vintage instruments and play a few tunes. Food, beverages and ice cream will be available.

Oct 26   ShareCare by Upledger

One of the goals of The Upledger Institute is to teach people that they play the most active role in their own health.

ShareCare workshops were designed by Dr. John E. Upledger specifically for persons with no prior knowledge of anatomy or physiology. Dr. Upledger Is the osteopathic physician who led the research team to establish the scientific basis for a craniosacral system. He has shown how the system could be used to evaluate and treat misunderstood malfunctions involving the brain, spinal cord, and a myriad of other health problems such as chronic pain, lowered vitality, recurring infections, etc.

ShareCare participants with no healthcare background can learn about the craniosacral system and its influence on their overall health. Presenters will introduce a few simple techniques designed to relieve headaches, reduce stress, control pain, promote relaxation, and to lead participants to a greater understanding of their role in their own health.

This provides 6 CEU credits for massage therapists & bodyworkers, but is open to the general public. Please note there are no pre-requisites.

*Participants should wear comfortable clothing.
