Jan 24   S. Carey Concert
S. CAREY Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 7:30pm
Doors open at 6:45pm
Like a weathered mountain range changing shadow form and color, or the ebb and flow of a river's current, the music of S. Carey is simultaneously restful and rhythmic, complex and simple, and always evolving. His new album 'Range of Light' takes its title from the name that 19th century naturalist John Muir  'Carey' hero' gave to California's Sierra Nevada and is drawn from Carey's love of jazz, modern classical and Americana. While he studied classical percussion and piano at the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire, Carey imbibed rhythmic minimalists such as Steve Reich and Philip Glass. Immediately after graduating in 2007, he caught wind that Eau Claire resident Justin Vernon was forming a band to take his 'For Emma, Forever Ago' opus on the road. Carey learned the drum and vocal parts for the album, rehearsed with Vernon, and has been a mainstay of the Bon Iver live band ever since.

Mar 21   Samantha Fish Concert
Blues in the 'Burg Concert Series SAMANTHA FISH Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 7:30pm
Doors open at 6:45pm
Take cover: there's a storm coming. With lyrical thunderbolts, lightning-flash fretwork and ground-shaking grooves, Samantha Fish is going to blow the roof off the CCC with her modern rocking sound. With Samantha's name buzzing on the blues scene and the iron hot, she is touring the world to share her searing lead guitar style. Samantha is classified as a blues artist, but she crosses musical borders while expressing soulful elements of Americana, rock, country and roots. Finding inspiration from fallen '80s heroes like Stevie Ray Vaughan, right back to the pre-war Delta masters. 'I fell in love with it,' she told Premier Guitar of her growing passion for the form, 'and started doing my homework by listening to the old guys like Son House and Skip James.' Soon enough, appreciation for the blues had spilled over into application, and by the age of 18, she broke into a dues-paying period on the jam circuit: an apprenticeship at the sharp end that tightened her musical chops, polished her stagecraft and gave her the grit to overcome occasional skepticism about her age, hair tone and gender. ?I always hated the idea of the gimmick,? she told Premier Guitar. 'People come out just because you are a girl, but then you have so much more to prove once you get them in the door.' Only in her mid-20s, Samantha displays an impressive knowledge of and respect for music of yore and has the skills and polish to ensure a lively performance for all ages. Samantha received the prestigious Blues Music Award (BMA) for 'Best New Artist Debut' in 2012. Her set list includes molten and grimy originals, from her latest album, 'Black Wind Howlin' along with a few covers from artists Steve Miller, John Hiatt, The Rolling Stones, Tom Petty, R.L. Burnside, Tom Waits and Charley Patton . This is the sound of an artist on the brink of the big-time with both hands on the wheel.

May 16   Dehli 2 Dublin
Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 7:30pm
Doors open at 6:45pm

The Center will be transformed with the sale of standing room only tickets for this special concert event. The songs of Delhi 2 Dublin, and the band itself, reflect the cultural diversity present in most major cities around the world. They challenge the definition of urban music and drag it to the intersection of Bhangra, Celtic, Dub Reggae and Electronica. The Vancouver-based five-piece collective will share their lively performance at the Cedarburg Cultural Center with an addictive mash-up of fiddle, dhol and electric sitar - chock-full of hooks, formed by '80s synth-pop and '90s trip-hop. The band's upbeat and engaging trademark fusion offers a diverse variety of instruments associated with the Punjabi and Celtic cultures, ranging from the electric sitar and dhol drum to the fiddle. 'Turn Up The Stereo' is not only the title of the current Delhi 2 Dublin album; it is also the philosophy behind the album. 'Sometimes we just need to drown out the noise of the world and make the music louder', declares vocalist Sanjay Seran. The Delhi 2 Dublin crew is constantly touring. The road warriors feel that they plug directly into the world's music and energy. The strong word-of-mouth for their live performances has enabled them to build a loyal and world-wide fan base. The band tours internationally and will be featured in 2015 at the tastemaker music conference, SXSW. 'When Delhi 2 Dublin stumbled upon their winning recipe of Celtic-inspired folk-hop for the dance club audience, they effortlessly created a niche for themselves within the global music landscape.' -Exclaim
