Ozaukee Master Gardener, Susie Granzow, will explain how vertical gardening can be used to grow flowers, fruit, and vegetables in a smaller space, with easier access, pest and disease control, and more. She will show examples of vertical supports ranging from purchased, do-it-yourself construction, and repurposing “found” items that you may have cluttering up your basement or garage. This course provides an overview of the basic concepts of Traditional Chinese Medicine including the Yin and Yang Theory, Five Element Theory, Fundamental Substances and Meridian Theory, as well as an introduction to the modalities of TCM, the major TCM classic texts, and basic diagnostic techniques.

  • Students will identify the proper definitions of basic terms used in Traditional Chinese Medicine.
  • Students will identify different modalities of TCM.
  • Student will identify meridian and organ systems.
  • Students will identify two major methods of TCM diagnosis.
  • Students will identify and palpate selected meridian pathways and acupuncture points on themselves and others and will identify points used for specific purposes.
  • Students will identify the elements used in Five Element Theory along with basic associations.

This class is open to all levels. Blue Sky's full-time students attend this class as part of their required curriculum. But the public is welcome to come and learn with them.

Join us for the 3rd Annual WISCONSIN BIKE FESTIVAL & CENTURY RIDES The Wisconsin Bike Festival is free and open to the public. Early Saturday starts out with Wisconsin's 1st and only women-only century ride. The Wisconsin Women Century has 4 routes to choose from and rolls along the scenic roads and trails of Ozaukee & Washington Counties. At 10, families or individuals will be supporting their favorite non-profit during the Bike4aCause benefit ride. Starting at 11, cheer in the cyclists as they return from a day on their bike or take in the Festival. DJ Rick Jules will spin his tunes as you enjoy the Kid's Skill Course, Vendor Expo, Food, or Beer Garden. There will be a couple fun races for kids and adults too. The Rhythm Kings will play live from 2:30 – 6:30 so don't forget your dancin' shoes. On Sunday morning, the Holy Hill Classic rolls out. It’s a hard-ride for any cyclist. Experienced cyclists will enjoy the scenery and bragging rights as they climb these holy (cow) hills that are almost as steep as the Basilica's towers themselves. Holy Hill Classic – A Metric- or Full-Century Challenge The Holy Hill Classic is a hard-ride for any cyclist. Enjoy the scenery and bragging rights as you climb these holy (cow) hills that are almost as steep as the Basilica's towers themselves. Experienced riders can choose the 65-miler with 2,810 ft of climbing or the 105-mile route tallying up 4,479 ft. As part of the Wisconsin Bike Festival weekend, this semi-supported co-ed ride will take you to the Grandiose Basilica of Holy Hill National Shrine. Both routes are co-ed with 1-fully supported rest stop and SAG support. Start / Finish is at Cedar Creek Park in Cedarburg, WI. Who should participate? Only experienced century ride cyclists. Great for triathletes and the weekend warriors too.
